It wasn’t until 2011 that the Writers Guild of America recognized Trumbo’s credit, on the recommendation of Hunter’s son, Tim.Īrlen Hird (Louis C.K.)A composite character, Arlen Hird stands in for Trumbo’s more hard-line lefty comrades - those screenwriters who recognized his considerable talents but were worried about his bona fides.
